One thing I’ve learned with time is that when a window of opportunity opens, take advantage of it before it shuts. How many windows and doors have opened for you in your life but for one reason or another you didn’t go through them? I can think of several for myself, missed chances because I was too timid or insecure to make a bold move. I’m reminded of a proverb that I heard many years ago: He who hesitates often misses his opportunity.
The picture I’ve chosen for this post was taken from the Aperol bar overlooking Milano’s famous Galleria facade. It’s a plain simple window, but outside of it one can see lovely lighted arches, beautiful architectural embellishments, and more finestre. Think of this window pictured as an opportunity that might be presented to you. Through its panes…read that pains… of taking a chance with something you’re not comfortable with, wondrous new experiences, as well as more windows of opportunity, will appear that you would have missed otherwise.
